ABSTRACT

Abstract The paper presents the results of research on modifying several characteristics of alluvial soils, due to hydromeliorative works in the investigated area. The evolution of these soils is different from that of the soils found in the typical alluvial soils areas. The development of a superphreatic layer over some impervious horizons, with a high content of soluble salts has been found here, which makes it an essential element in the specific evolution of these soils. Keywords: flood plains, river diking, soil salinity, water quality, water regime.
