The important air pollutants with respect to health effects include SPM (including Pb), CO, NO2 , HC, O3 and SO2 . The conclusions and recommendations presented here arise from the detailed discussion given in the preceding chapters and are intended to provide guidance for the formulation and implementation of effective policies to prevent serious air pollution problems from occurring or worsening in countries at all stages of economic development.
