ABSTRACT

Secretory cells include fluorescent secretions in crystalline or hardened and liquid forms. In some cases, the light emission of excretions from the secretory cells may be analyzed on object glasses under a luminescence microscope and/or their fluorescence spectra could be registered. The analyzed examples of natural secretions released may be divided into several groups: 1. crystals on the surface or within transparent secretory structure; 2. Sporopollenin of microspores; 3. liquid excretions such as slime, nectar, guttation water, resin seen on the plant surface or released on the object glass (slice). The main information dealing with natural excretions has been given in Chapter 2, where intact secretory cells were

analyzed and compared with the released secretions. In this section, some new aspects will be included.
