Water fraction from vegetative microspores has no marked maxima in the fluorescence spectra, while the same fraction from pollen and pistils fluoresced in the blue spectral region with maxima at 460480 nm which is peculiar to water-soluble compounds such as NAD(P)H and flavonoids (Roshchina et al., 1998a; 2003a).
