ABSTRACT

This working paper reviews literature and research in industrial design. Industrial design is more user-focused than technical product development and is also influenced by aspects such as cultural preferences for aesthetics and the products’ emotional value. These aspects are not enough developed in ‘new product development’ literature. At the end of this working paper further research in this field is proposed.
