Generally, septation takes place only after the growth of the con idiogenous cell has stopped; the septa may be acropetal, basipetal, or random.
Tubaki (1963) distinguished exogenous (Fig. Il.2a) and endogenous formation (Fig. II.2b) of arthroconidia. Kendrick (1971b) recognized six different types.
