ABSTRACT
A new educational course "Physico-chemical Mechanics of Fracture" the theme of which i s environment-assisted cracking (EAC) of engineering materials i s described and discussed. The course has been created by the author for materials and engineering students. The main aim of t h i s course i s t o impart t o the students certa in s k i l l s for complex studying of the synerg i s t i c act ion of a large body of d i f ferent parameters on p o s s i b i l i t y , mode and v e l o c i t y of the EAC of materials under in - serv ice condit ions.
