ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a brief overview of the strategy for the application of dispersing by chemical reaction (DCR) technology in the field of environmental remediation and deals, in particular, with the clean-up of toxic waste sites and contaminated land, comprising the immobilization and fixation of heavy metals, the immobilization and detoxification of hazardous organic material, and the DCR-supported biological degradation of nonpersistent organics.
