ABSTRACT
Location of field experiments and initial soil characteristics The field study was conducted on gravel sandy soil (70 % coarse sand) with a pH of 5, 5 and an organic matter content of 2%. The field experiments were located in an experimental farm of I.N.R.A., near Bordeaux (France).
