Beforediscussingthecriteriafordiagnosingalloimmuneplateletrefractoriness,itisimportant toidentifytheexpectedresponsetohomologousplatelettransfusionsinthrombocytopenic patients.Therearetwoparametersthatcharacterizetheplateletresponse-theinitialplatelet recoveryorcorrectedcountincrementandthesubsequentsurvivalofthetransfusedplatelets.
