ABSTRACT

Abstract As part of a program to assess the strength and durability of concretes made with different cements four concrete mixes were prepared from each of eighteen different normal Portland cements (CSA Type 10 or A S T M Type I) available in Ontario, Canada. These concretes were made with two different aggregates and two different cement contents. The water content of all mixes was adjusted to give a nominally constant slump of 80 ± 10 mm. Extensive chemical and physical analysis was made of the eighteen cements.
