ABSTRACT

A geomembrane, even i f i t i s used as a b a r r i e r t o movement of v a r i o u s f l u i d s , cannot be c o m p l e t e l y impermeable t o a l l gases, v a p o r s , l i q u i d s , and d i s s o l v e d s p e c i e s . T e s t s are ne c e s s a r y t o c h a r a c t e r i z e the p e r m e a b i l i t y of the membrane t o t he c o n s t i t u e n t s of a f l u i d w i t h which i t i s i n c o n t a c t .
