ABSTRACT
This article assesses the performance of water hydraulics in comparison with oil hydraulics, electric and pneumatic systems. It briefly discusses the types of water that can be used, outlines the engineering challenges in developing water hydraulic components, and assesses a water hydraulic user’s view on the ad vantages gained by "going water".
