ABSTRACT

In education everything depends on the competence and the will of teachers. However, the question arises, whether the applications resulting from the new technologies will really become effective! I want to focus upon familiarising teachers with the new developments, both in initial and in in-service teacher education and training. Research with regard to interactive learning and new technologies must be evaluated in classroom-"reality". To improve conditions for classroom-reality is the aim of every pedagogic institution. We, that is the Pedagogic Academy of the Diocese of Linz in Upper Austria, where the so-called IST-Centre ("Information - Schooling - and Training" - Zentrum) is situated, also regard this as our main concern. The intention of this paper is to describe and give information about the activities in the IST-Centre.
