ABSTRACT
Dr. J.T. Goldschmeding, President of the Dutch Association of Scientific Film and Video (NVWFT) and Director of the Audiovisual Department of the Free University of Amsterdam, opened the meeting and welcomed the participants on behalf of the NVWFT, the Dutch Ministry of Education and Science, and the Institute for Educational Research in the Netherlands (SVO). Mr. M. Vorbeck (Council of Europe) thanked NVWFT for having accepted the task of preparing and organising the Workshop in co-operation with the Council for Cultural Co-operation, the Ministry and SVO. He explained the nature of the work of the Council for Cultural Co-operation, and introduced the present workshop as part of a series of similar workshops held since 1975.
