ABSTRACT
Modeling of joints or interfaces in structural systems pose several difficulties. First, both in analytical models and experiment design it is difficult to isolate the intrinsic joint behavior without attaching joints to the interfacing structural elements or sub structures. Therefore, incorporation of joints in the form of standard finite elements becomes problematic.
