ABSTRACT

The Method of Fundamental Solutions Method (MFS) is used to solve one group and two group Neutron Diffusion problems. The inhomogeneous terms were modeled with the Dual Reciprocity Method (DRM) by using the well-known thin-plate spline Radial Basis Function (RBF) as the approximating function. A test problem is presented first and the results obtained by using MFS are compared with FEM solutions. Then one group and two group Neutron Diffusion equations in a rectangular domain were solved using MFS. Results for each group problems will be presented in the tables. Results indicate that MFS gives accurate solutions and are consistent with the exact solution.
