ABSTRACT
In Chapter 5, different methods for the solution of eigen-value problems were described. In this chapter, two popular methods used for the solution of large-scale problems will be described in detail. The two are
• the simultaneous iteration method • the sub-space iteration method
It has to be remembered, that in most practical cases, only a very small percentage of the full eigen-pairs are needed. These methods are therefore geared to address this specific requirement.
