MANAGEMENT SKILLS Years ago, an indiv idual i n charge of a project had only to be technically proficient i n a single discipline. The t radi t ional disciplines themselves were more encompassing and projects generally involved only one discipline. A large bu i ld ing project required only a competent architect to work w i t h several master craftsmen. Schedules were sometimes a matter of decades and labor was cheap so escalating costs were not tha t m u c h of a problem.
