ABSTRACT

The subject of th is paper is the behaviour of cyclically shear-loaded panels, including buckling, p lastic ity and dam age. T he m ain objective of th is paper is firstly to show how different the perform ance of m aterial-law s may be, if cyclical buckling is existent and secondly how th e resulting stresses and strains will influence the location of the in itial crack and the m ain direction of crack-growth. Five different m aterial-m odels have been tested ; these are: a four-surface M roz-model, a modified two-surface-model of the D afalias-Popov-type, two m odels using a Phillips-W eng-type translational-law and a Tseng-Lee-m odel. Tests have been conducted w ith a specially designed test set-up.
