ABSTRACT
Alnus glutinosa Gaertn. subsp. barbata (C.A.Mey) Yalt.) is an taxon of Alder (Alnus Mill.) and ranges in the east Black Sea region of Turkey. Wenn it was looked at the literature cited in this taxon, it will be understood that there are many researches and publications related to its botanical, technological, polinological characteristics and its range, ecological and silvicultural requirements. On the other hand, there is no enough research on the yield and management basis of Alder forests. Therefore, construction of Dry-Weight Tables and culculation of energy capacity of Alder state forests are the objects of this paper. Keywords: Biomass, energy capacity, Alder
INTRODUCTION Because of the predicted shortage of fuel energy, forest biomass is destined to become an important source of Turkey's energy supply. General Directorate of Forestry has established as of the end 1989, 440.000 ha energy forest.
