ABSTRACT
High-strength composites have been evaluated for strengthening in shear mode by a number of investigators (Anil, 2006; Mosallam and Banerjee, 2007; Triantafillou, 1998). A number of field applications have also been carried out all over the world (Kachlakev andMcCurry, 2000; Seible, 1995). These include reinforced and prestressed concrete beams and columns. This chapter deals with the beams while the application to columns is presented in Chapter 8.
