ABSTRACT
It has been noted in Chapter 3 that all of the major engineering fields of study can and do effectively use the systems approach. The major differences are involved with a characterization of the force input to the structure. Additionally, as we have seen from a study of mode shapes and the relationships between modal and structural characteristics, the effect of a force on a structure is influenced by the position in which it acts.
