ABSTRACT

Assessing the binding capability of biomolecules is signicant in clinical diagnosis, in particular for assessing the effect of diseases requiring urgent treatment and intervention. In the present chapter, the presence of free and protein-bound bilirubin in cord blood and its effect on the management of bilirubinemia and associated Kernicterus disease is presented and discussed.
