ABSTRACT

Over the years, a large number of publications in the areas of reliability and safety have appeared in the form of articles in journals, related to conference proceedings, technical reports, and books [1-6]. Many of these publications report the development of various types of methods and approaches for analyses of reliability and safety. Some of these methods and approaches can be used quite effectively for analyzing both reliability and safety. The others are more conned to a specic area (i.e., reliability or safety).
