ABSTRACT

During the last two decades, research on cumin has been mainly conducted by the agricultural section of Khorasan state branch of Technology and Science Research Organization of Iran, and elucidated some unknown dimensions of cultural practices of this crop. However, in due course of time the ecology, morphology, phonology, physiology, and cytology of cumin will be better understood. In India, Rajasthan Agricultural University and research centers affiliated to Indian Council of Agricultural Research, conducted many research projects regarding control of cumin diseases, introduction of new varieties and agronomical practices.
