ABSTRACT

The writer of this paper developed a method to measure the development of ultrasonic pulse velocity in fresh concrete. The method was developed in order to be able to control concrete mixes and to produce a constant flow of concrete with equal early properties. Properties such as setting time and available working time were of the utmost importance for the project at hand, which was a large offshore project where more than 2000 linear meter of wall had to be slipformed in one go.
