ABSTRACT
The "near-surface" properties of concrete (skin concrete or cover concrete) are of great importance in characterising its behaviour versus environmental influences as well as under ultimate flexural loading. Recently, several research works (1-5) were carried out in order to advance the knowledge on the subject and to develop reliable test methods by which these properties may be measured.
