Cervical and Cervicothoracic Injuries O n e o f the m ost m obile and flexible sections o f the h u m an spinal co lu m n is the
region spann ing C l to T 2 . T h e cervical sp ine can be d iv ided in to four d istinc t regions each w ith th e ir ow n u n iq u e b iom echan ica l, an ato m ic , an d pa tho log ica l features. T hese are th e 1) occip ito -a tlan to-ax ial (0 -C 1 -C 2 ) region, 2) the up p e r cervical spine (C 3-C 5), 3) the lower cervical spine (C 5-C 7), and 4) the cervicothoracic ju n c tio n (C 7 -T 2 ).
