ABSTRACT

Readers and authors of this book alike are the allies of scientists and scientists-to-be in the fight against one of our most common and mightiest enemies, Alzheimer’s disease (AD), which deprives individuals of their basic human dignity after decades of (gener ally) respectful lives with families and friends. As a professional scientist, I am personally grate ful to be able to live in the present time when scientists from different ethnic groups, some of which fought against each other in a brutal manner in the past, can now work together to fight the real common enemy through friendly collaborations or in open competition under hope fully true democracies.
