ABSTRACT

The waste products from the coffee industries consist of silver skin, parchment, mucilage, pulp, etc. In the conventional way these are utilised for the production of the manure, compost, fertilizer and live stock feed. However, these applications utilise only a fraction of available quantity and are not technically very efficient. Using the recent technologies, value added products can be obtained from coffee industry waste which is much more economical than the conventional method of utilising the coffee waste. Byproducts from coffee processing are presented in Fig. 4.1.
