BLADDER Increased incidence of trabeculation and pseudodiverticula. ➤ Changes in urethral epithelium to stratifi ed squamous. ➤ Alteration in vascularity of submucosa. ➤ Decline in bladder capacity. ➤ In men there is tendency for prostate gland to enlarge with age. ➤

Possible impact. Th ese changes by themselves do not produce clinical symptoms but increase the likelihood of urinary tract infection developing.
