ABSTRACT

INSTRUCTIONS: Mr Colins has been brought into hospital by ambulance complaining of shortness of breath. He is a known COPD sufferer with 5 previous hospital admissions and 2 admissions to ITU. He mentions that he has been coughing up green phlegm for the past 3 days. His temperature is 38.1 degrees, oxygen saturation is 91% in air and pulse 120. There is poor air entry throughout the chest and right basal crepitations. A polyphonic wheeze is apparent throughout the chest. He is allergic to penicillin. Complete the inpatient drug chart using information from the repeat prescription

provided and administer appropriate acute treatment. There is no patient in this scenario.
