ABSTRACT
The formation of the enlarged bulbous base is followed by compacting a zero slump concrete, which is introduced through the tube, with the compaction blow counts and volume of expelled concrete recorded. This process is repeated until the enlarged base has reached the desired energy levels (Byrne & Berry, 2008).
