ABSTRACT
In some instances, the term asphalt is used instead of the term bitumen (Gruse and Stevens, 1960). In other instances, the term asphalt is used to indicate the natural or mechanical mixture of the organic binder having a considerable proportion of mineral matter present (Broome, 1973; Broome and Wadelin, 1973). In this respect, the term is applied to the organic/inorganic mixture that is used on roadways.
