ABSTRACT

All the parameters mentioned are generally called quality of service (QoS) parameters. While maintaining the QoS, one must consider the energy consumed in the process [2,3]. All the QoS parameters must be tested for all types of data such as periodic data, nonperiodic data, bursty data, transient data, etc. All the nodes in the WSN send their data with a particular frequency called a reporting rate. This rate can be controlled to maintain the congestion. At the same time, by adjusting the reporting rate, one can also control the data’s reliability [4,5]. The QoS parameters must be taken care of, when one is designing WSNs. The existing protocols provide either congestion control or reliability [6]. A few protocols such as STCP provide both congestion control along with reliability of data.
