ABSTRACT
In this opening chapter we provide an initial overview of the
phenomenon of liquid structuring that can occur in liquids within
nanoscale proximity of a solid surface. In this, and subsequent
chapters, we explore the nature of nanoscale liquid interfaces,
methods for their investigation, and their importance in biological,
chemical, and technological contexts.
