ABSTRACT

Theaggregationstateofchromorphorescontainedinasolutionorasolidfilm canbefoundfromtheabsorptioncharacteristicsofthechromophoresinthe UV-Visspectra.Generally,ared-shiftofArnaxoccurswhenthechromophores arepresentasaggregates.Comparedwiththeabsorptionofchromophoresina dispersedstate,thedegreeofred-shiftofArnaxforchromophoresgenerallyincreaseswithincreaseofaggregationnumberofchromophores.Inthisstudy, porphyrinunitsaretherealchromophoresinbothPAAandPI.Toinvestigate theaggregationstateofporphyrinunitsinthespincoatedfilmsofPAAsand Pis,andtheorderedLBfilmsofPAASsandHPis,thecorrespondingUV-Vis spectraweremeasured.TheUV-VisspectrapresentedinFigs1-3showedthat theArnaxvaluesintheSabsorptionbandofporphyrinunitsinHPJspincoated film,HPILBfilm,CPIspincoatedfilmandPAASLBfilmisare415-417nm, 423nm,445-455nmand455nm,respectively.AstheArnaxintheSbandofthe realmodelcompound(namely,theBPPmoleculeinadispersedstate)isat407 nm,soitisinferredthattheaggregationdegreeoraggregationnumberofporphyrinunitsinpolymerfilmsincreasesintheorderHPIspin-coatedfilm,HPI LBfilm,CPIspin-coatedfilmandPAASLBfilms.TheporphyrinmoietiesaggregateobviouslyinspincoatedfilmsofPAAs,CPisandinLBfilmsof PAASs.
