The SNMP protocol, which is an asynchronous request/response message protocol operating on UDP (User Datagram Protocol) operates NMS with 4 operators shown in Fig 3.7. NMS lets a manager monitor and him know the information about an intrusion and the traffic connected to a network in real-time by using SGNIDS. As shown in Fig 3.12, this is designed so that a manager can fetch the signature value from SGNIDS DB and change it. In addition, this alerts the manager the information about the detected intrusion.
