ABSTRACT

Supramolecular chemistry is an interdisciplinary field of science dealing with non-covalent interactions between molecules. By employing the principle of molecular recognition, the so-called host molecules are able to form complexes with certain, specific guests. The key-and-lock-principle of Fischer illustrates the complementarity in size, shape and interaction of the participating partners [1].
