ABSTRACT

Carbon steels covered by polymer coatings are commonly used in hygienic applications and, more particularly, for the wall panel in cold storage rooms in the food industry, hospitals and in public buildings [1]. In such cold rooms, foodstuffs are only stored for a short time and during their handling, some splashing can occur on the wall-panel surfaces. This surface fouling can then constitute a favorable environment for further bacterial development. As a consequence, proper cleaning is essential [2-4].
