ABSTRACT

The ISMGEO geotechnical centrifuge (IGC) is a medium size beam centrifuge with a 240 g-ton capacity, having a symmetric rotating arm of 6 m in diameter, that holds two swinging baskets (Baldi et al. 1988); it was designed to reach a limit speed under 600 g with a payload of 400 kg. The model nominal radius is 2.2 m, and its maximum dimensions are: 1000 mm in length, 800 mm high with a width of 500 mm.
