ABSTRACT
Many offshore pipelines and cables are located in areas where they can be damaged by dragging or dropping anchors. When an anchor is not properly set or the mooring forces exceed the holding capacity of the anchor, the anchor will drag along the seabed. As a consequence the anchor can find pipelines or cables in its path, with the risk of causing damage to these pipelines and cables.
