ABSTRACT
The flow behaviour of saturated granular materials is of interest in many applications as it arises in both nature and industry. Geophysical examples of granular flows are numerous and extremely complex in their physical behaviour since they can develop as gentle to moderately fast moving flows, such as sediment transport in rivers, lake and ocean shores, or as rapid and catastrophic events such as debris and mud flows.
