ABSTRACT

The uncontrolled abnormal cell growth and development process leads to cancer formation. Leukemia is a blood forming cells cancer in the bone marrow. There are four main types of leukemia.1. Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), 2. Acute myeolocytic leukemia (AML), 3. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and 4. Chronic myeolocytic leukemia (CML). ALL is more common in children, and the others AML, CLL and CML are more prevalent in adults. (www.emedicinehealth.com). Acute lymphocytic leukemia accounts for 75% of all cases of childhood leukemia, is a malignant proliferation of lymphoid cells that is blocked at an early stage of differentiation. Both qualitative and quantitative changes in blood proteins and amino acid nitrogen levels have been observed in patients with leukemia (Kelley and Waismen 1957).
