ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we shall ›rst discuss the nature of thermal fatigue and the intimate linkages between thermal fatigue and waste heat recovery applications of thermoelectric materials. še thermoelastic and the energy balance models for thermal shock will be reviewed, along with the roles material parameters and microstructure play in these models. Numerical examples of the thermal fatigue resistance parameters will illustrate di¤erences among current thermoelectric materials.
