ABSTRACT

The effects in this chapter are based on the observation that it is possible to start with a display featuring randomly selected face-up cards, have an audience member implement a color change of one card, and then have a second person-who joins the scene for the first time-detect which card was changed. It should come as no surprise that the second volunteer is your mathematically-trained accomplice, and here we suggest openly admitting this person’s role, perhaps presenting her as a mind reader.
