Cell adhesion is involved in various natural phenomena such as embryogenesis, maintenance of tissue structure, wound healing, immune response, metastasis as
well as tissue integration of biomaterials. It has previously been established that the surface properties of biomaterials strongly influence cellular behaviour. In particular, parameters such as surface energy, roughness and chemical composition significantly influence these interactions [1-3].
