ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces a technique based on matrix inequalities (the socalled Linear Matrix Inequalities or LMIs) which solves many control problems through a very general formulation. After expressing the main ideas on which the approach relies, the most important control problems will be reformulated according to LMI.
