ABSTRACT

My father was an officer in the Merchant Navy. Having spent 20 years sailing from one country to the other, he gained firsthand experience of different countries and cultures. He left his job because he wanted to ensure that his children had his undivided attention and started a small pharmaceutical distribution company. The company did well and became the largest distribution company, in terms of coverage in the province. At that time, I was 11 years old, but I was somehow attached to the business. I always asked my father two questions, as I was unable to comprehend:

1. Why the pharmaceutical companies did not distribute the products themselves? These companies had the financial resources and could develop the market more efficiently.
